Travel Slowly
I have traveled to Italy three times now and I want to go back for more. Travel slowly. Absorb the theatre of the Italians as they get on with their daily lives. Enjoy the history in the cities that reach to many levels below the surface and the emerald green land of Tuscany and Umbria. Take time to make sure that all of your senses are filled with Italian sites, sound, taste. Absorb as much as you possibly can in one trip. You won’t regret it.
Become Transfixed
Take in the scene. Slim cobblestone lane ways that are shared with people, cars and bikes. Streets lined with old buildings dressed in a colour pallet of muted apricots and cream. Red geraniums dripping over the sides of window gardens across the crumpling of the stucco for extra atmosphere. Every street is a scene from a travel magazine.
Use my travel map to plan your itinerary
The travel map below outlines where I have been and the order in which I have visited places. I usually kick off in Rome, exit from Milan and travel by train all over the country. The map doesn’t stretch to the most northern part of Italy – that’s for trip number 4.
